Zipline

OXO Planet designs and installs professional-grade ziplines for adventure parks, resorts, institutions and urban attractions — delivering safe, scenic and unforgettable rides.

Introduction

A Zipline, also known as a Flying Fox, Aerial Runway, Canopy Slide or Zip Wire, is a gravity-driven ride where participants glide along a suspended steel cable using a trolley and harness. Speed, height, braking and view define the experience. When engineered correctly, a zipline becomes a signature attraction that balances thrill with approachability.

Each site demands a different solution. Terrain, wind, rider profile and throughput goals shape cable profiles, tower heights and braking systems. From compact family-friendly runs to kilometre-plus scenic crossings, Oxo Planet's zipline systems scale across resorts, adventure parks, urban landmarks and tourism destinations.

Why Choose Oxo Planet Ziplines?

Our ziplines are engineered with the same rigor as permanent amusement structures. We specify tested cables and anchors, resilient platforms, and reliable braking systems that ensure smooth deceleration and controlled landings. Equally important, we design for throughput — efficient harnessing and boarding processes that keep lines moving while maintaining safety.

Universal Appeal

Loved by kids, adults, corporates and tourists.

Safe & Certified

Cables, anchors and braking systems are specified to standards.

High Throughput

Optimised boarding, dual lanes and efficient harnessing.

Custom Length & Height

From short recreational runs to kilometre-plus scenic lines.

Scenic Integration

Designed to blend with hills, rivers, forests or urban skylines.

Durability

Weather-resistant materials for long service life.

Benefits & Use Cases

A zipline is a headline attraction that draws diverse audiences and delivers instant shareability. Operators gain revenue via tickets, combo passes and group bookings; destinations gain visibility through word-of-mouth and social media. We design lines that serve different goals — short adrenaline bursts for compact parks or long scenic traverses that become the hero of a destination.

Resorts & Hotels

Signature photo moments; increases guest stay and ancillary spend.

Adventure Parks

High-capacity crowd pleaser; pairs well with rope courses and towers.

Urban Installations

Rooftop-to-ground or stadium-to-plaza lines for city landmarks.

Institutions & Campuses

Safe thrill for events and student engagement.

Tourism Boards

Iconic attractions that market regions organically.

Where Ziplines Are Built?

Ziplines adapt to a variety of settings as long as there’s adequate elevation differential or engineered towers. We work with natural terrain where possible and design freestanding solutions when nature doesn’t provide height.

Resorts & Adventure Parks

Entertainment attractions that increase engagement and revenue.

Natural Terrain

Hill-to-hill crossings, valley spans, canopy rides over forests, river crossings.

Urban Installations

Rooftops, stadiums, malls and corporate campuses.

Standalone Towers

Steel or RCC launch and landing towers where elevation is needed.

Tourist Destinations

Scenic hero-lines that define a destination’s identity.

Institutions

Universities and schools for events and recreation.

Zipline Core Components

A reliable zipline is an ecosystem of platforms, cables, anchors, trolleys and brakes working in harmony. We specify each component to the site’s geometry and target speeds.

Launch & Landing Platforms

Engineered with stairs, harnessing zones and safety rails.

Steel Cables & Anchors

High-tensile cables and certified anchorage.

Harnesses & Trolleys

Comfortable harness options and low-friction trolleys.

Braking Systems

Magnetic, spring or bungee-based braking for controlled landings.

Safety Nets & Guardrails

Platform safety features and netting.

Professional Engineering

Structural analysis, load calculations and site planning.

Types of Ziplines

Choose the format that matches your site geometry, capacity goals and experience profile.

Short Recreational

100–150 m for compact parks and resorts.

Scenic Medium

200–500 m for dramatic views and speed.

Long Scenic

500 m – 1 km+ hero lines for tourism icons.

Dual / Parallel Zipline

Two riders at once; races and higher throughput.

Two-Way Zipline

To-and-fro line design using twin platforms.

Kids’ Zipline

Lower height, controlled speed, parent-friendly.

Signature Zipline Features

We optimise the full rider journey — approach, harnessing, launch, glide, brake and exit — so the experience feels seamless and safe. Our platforms are designed for clear sightlines and smooth staff operations.

Smooth Ride Dynamics

Cable profiles tuned for stable speeds and minimal sway.

Reliable Braking

Redundant braking strategies sized to line length.

Flow-Optimised Platforms

Harnessing lanes, signage and queue design.

Weather-Ready

Corrosion control and UV-stable materials.

Photo/Video Ready

Mount points for action cams and photo ops.

Serviceability

Access provisions and standardised spares.

Zipline Construction Process

Our step-by-step process ensures safety and speed-to-launch, with clear milestones and documentation for stakeholders.

1. Consultation & Survey

Terrain analysis, feasibility and audience study.

2. Design & Engineering

3D layouts, load calculations and platform planning.

FAQs on Zipline Setup

What is the minimum space required?

Plan for at least 100 m of clear line and adequate elevation difference (typically 5–15 m) between launch and landing. Where natural height is unavailable, we design freestanding towers sized to the line geometry and target speeds.

How long can a zipline be?

Recreational ziplines typically run 100–150 m, while scenic lines can extend to 1 km+ with appropriate engineering. Longer lines require careful cable profiling and braking strategies, which we model during design.

What is the capacity per hour?

Expect 30–60 riders per hour depending on line length, boarding efficiency and staffing. Dual or two-way designs increase throughput.

How safe is a zipline?

When designed and installed professionally, ziplines are very safe. We use certified cables, anchors and braking systems, perform load testing, and provide documentation and training for daily operations.

Can ziplines be built in urban areas?

Yes — rooftop-to-ground, stadium-to-plaza or tower-to-tower lines are feasible with engineered anchors and platforms. We also address crowd management and visual impact.

What is included / excluded in the cost?

Included: cables, anchors, trolleys, harnesses, braking system and installation. Excluded: sheds and site-specific expenses. GST extra.

How long does installation take?

Typical projects are delivered in 4–12 weeks depending on terrain, length and tower complexity, with phased milestones for approvals and testing.
